Knowing C# and ASP.NET Core is a strong foundation, but enterprise development requires understanding the complete application lifecycle.

A developer should add:

Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS and a modern framework such as React or Angular.

Data: SQL, database design, indexing, transactions and Entity Framework Core.

Architecture: REST APIs, authentication, authorization, caching, messaging, dependency injection and distributed systems.

Cloud: Azure services, Managed Identity, Key Vault, storage and monitoring.

Engineering: Git, CI/CD, unit/integration testing, Docker, logging and observability.

The important transition is from:

"I can build an API."

to:

"I can design, secure, test, deploy, monitor and maintain an enterprise application."

A strong portfolio project should therefore include frontend + API + database + authentication + automated testing + Docker + Azure deployment + CI/CD.
