D365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant - Finance

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Functional Consultant specializing in the Finance module and Financial Reporting. In this role, you will work closely with US-based clients to gather business requirements, design functional specifications, configure financial reports, and validate system data.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Requirement Gathering & Design: Analyze business requirements, create Functional Design Documents (FDDs), Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and process design documentation. Financial Reporting & Configuration: Design, configure, and validate financial reports (Management Reporter / Financial Reporting) in D365 F&O, including Trial Balance, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. Data & Process Validation: Gather data directly from the system, validate report results, test SSRS reports, and recommend report/process improvements. Functional Setup: Configure and manage financial dimensions, main accounts, account structures, and financial reporting configurations. Client Collaboration: Serve as a functional liaison between technical teams and US business stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience D365 F&O Expertise: Solid functional experience with D365 F&O Finance modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR). Financial Reporting: Hands-on experience configuring and testing financial statements (Trial Balance, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) using D365 Financial Reporting / Management Reporter and SSRS. Documentation & Analysis: Proven track record of drafting comprehensive Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and translating business needs into technical requirements. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills for direct US client interaction. Work Logistics & Prerequisites Shift Timing: US Shift overlap required (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST). Hardware Requirement: Candidates must have their own laptop (Virtual Machine / client environment will be provided). Preferred Skills Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310). Experience working in multi-company / multi-legal entity D365 environments. Deep understanding of financial statement mapping, consolidation, and report design best practices. How do you handle reporting across multiple legal entities with different charts of accounts or currencies in D365? Are you comfortable working during the required overlap hours of 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST to collaborate with US stakeholders? Do you have a personal laptop with a high-speed internet connection to access the client-provided Virtual Machine (VM)? Have you directly led requirement-gathering calls or presented FDD walkthroughs to US-based clients? Work Location: Remote
